After earning his MD-PhD at the University of Guadalajara, he completed his psychiatry residency at the University of California at San Diego\u00a0(UCSD) where Dr. Salguero was chief resident at the Neuropsychiatry &amp; Behavioral Medicine Unit and recipient of multiple awards including \u201cBest Resident Clinician\u201d and the prestigious \u201cLewis L. Judd\u201d Research Award for his research in implementing a mindfulness self-compassion intervention for residents.
