Job description

Summary:

Responsible for front office operations including greeting patients, making appointments, answering the telephone, billing all insurances, health plans and denti-cal and collect Payment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones
  • Greet patients and hand out forms for consultation
  • Prepare charts for patients with proper completed forms
  • Schedule appointments
  • Confirm appointments for following day.
  • Provide estimates to patients for dental work requested
  • Verify patient’s insurance coverage
  • Bill all insurance including health plans and Denti-cal
  • Request Treatment Authorization Requests from Denti-cal for major treatments
  • Maintain general cleanliness of waiting area and entrance
  • Participate in health fairs and promotions for dental department.
  • Call No Show patients
  • Respond to Doctible messages
  • Collect payments.
  • Help patients with Registration
  • Accountable for checking voicemails daily and returning all patient calls/messages within 24 hours of receiving each message

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a dental assistant program. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Certification required: Needs CPR certification.

Experience: 1-2 year’s experience dental office or hospital setting as a Patient Services Representative or registration.

Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job: Bilingual (English/Spanish). Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Accurate keyboarding skills.

Technical knowledge and skills required to perform the job: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Knowledge of communities we serve. Knowledge and experience working in Dental settings and interacting collaboratively with Dental teams. Skill in analyzing situations and making timely decisions.

Physical and Mental Requirements: Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
