Dr. Salguero is a board-certified Addiction Psychiatrist that has been with La Maestra Community Health Centers since 2016. After earning his MD-PhD at the University of Guadalajara, he completed his psychiatry residency at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) where Dr. Salguero was chief resident at the Neuropsychiatry & Behavioral Medicine Unit and recipient of multiple awards including “Best Resident Clinician” and the prestigious “Lewis L. Judd” Research Award for his research in implementing a mindfulness self-compassion intervention for residents. Dr. Salguero is dedicated to expanding linguistically and culturally competent mental health services for the underserved in San Diego.
