Summary

Community Health Imaging Centers is seeking a compassionate and community-minded Radiologic Technologist. Our mission is to provide high-quality, respectful, and patient-centered diagnostic imaging to all members of our community, including underserved and uninsured populations. This role is essential in supporting primary care physicians by providing accurate diagnostic X-rays in a professional and caring outpatient environment. Position requires excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction while working independently.

 

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Radiography: Perform a variety of routine diagnostic X-ray examinations (chest, extremities, spine, etc.) utilizing sophisticated digital imaging equipment with technical precision in accordance with CHIC protocols, ensuring accurate results while prioritizing patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Position and prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions and empathetic care to ensure comfort and minimize anxiety.
  • Safety & Shielding: Strictly follow established imaging protocols and radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff, including the use of lead aprons and shields and applying A.L.A.R.A. (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) standards and principles.
  • Quality Assurance: Critically evaluate images for technical accuracy and clarity; maintain and clean imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning. Promptly report any equipment malfunctioning to direct supervisor for resolution.
  • Image Management: Utilize integrated imaging systems to document procedures and transmit images to PACS (Picture Archival and Communication systems) for radiologist review and interpretation. Complete electronic patient tracking as indicated.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Patient Centered Medical Home Essential Responsibilities (Principals)

  • Collaborate with individual patients, their personal physicians, and when appropriate the patient’s family to ensure accessible, comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally competent care
  • Facilitate care by registries, information technology, health information exchange and other means to assure that patients get the indicated care when and where they need and want it in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Ensure all decisions respect patients’ wants, needs, and preferences and that patients have the education and support they require to make decisions and participate in their own care.
  • Continually strive to attend to each patient “whole person,” in the context of the patient’s personal and medical history and life circumstances, rather than focusing on a particular disease, organ, or system

 

Job Qualifications

 

  • Experience: Two years prior experience in one or more ARRT modalities.
  • Education: Graduate of an JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • National Registry: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists- ARRT(R) certification.
  • State Licensure: Valid California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) license in diagnostic radiography.
  • Continuing Education: Meet ongoing continuing education requirements as mandated by licensing bodies to stay updated on the latest technology and techniques in the field.
  • Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

 

 

Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job:  Bilingual (English/Spanish). Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.  Accurate keyboarding skills.

Technical knowledge and skills required to perform the job:  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.  Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Knowledge of communities we serve. Knowledge and experience working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams.  Skill in analyzing situations and making timely decisions.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:  Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
