Job Summary

La Maestra Community Health Centers seeks a Client Experience Specialist to become Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representative. The core functions of this position are (1) reception, administrative support, communication with client, and (2) legal casework. Essential Job Duties

1) Reception, Administrative Support, Client Communication:

  • Front desk duties (walk-ins, phone calls, correspondence).
  • Perform intakes and determine eligibility for a form of relief (family or immigration law).
  • Keep clients aware of the status of their case.
  • Inform clients of the risks and benefits of applying for immigration forms of relief.
  • Make photocopies and scan files.
  • Register transactions and make reports.

2) Legal Casework:

  • Manage ongoing casework for attorneys and case managers.
  • Attend training to obtain OLAP accreditation from the Department of Justice.
  • Maintain OLAP accreditation by attending necessary trainings.
  • Prepare immigration applications for clients (green card and work permit renewals, naturalization, family petitions, adjustment of status, DACA, removal of conditions, etc.).
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records.
  • Assist attorneys with forms, statements, cover letters, motions, petitions, and briefs related to immigration and family law matters.
  • Once accredited, represent clients before USCIS.
  • Attend training to become notary public and notarize documents when required.

Required Qualifications

·        Post-secondary degree.

Preferred Skills & Experience

·        Experience as secretary, assistant or receptionist.

·        Customer service experience.

  • Experience with family law or immigration law.
  • Strong people and organizational skills.

Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
